The dress is pretty, although that giant headdress is a bit terrifying, especially if you're a bird. I think it's white flowers (lilies apparently), but they make her head look like it is being devoured by a feathered creature ~~;

She's married - if my Japanese didn't fail me - to a guy twice her age (44), the creator of Hypermedia (what?). Like...why, on both sides =__=;;;

Since I've never watched 1 Litre of Tears, the only times I've come across Sawajiri Erika is all the bad press about her attitude.

Is she like the Lindsay Lohan of Japan or something? 1 Litre of Tears was like the height of her career and ever since then she's been putting on that snobby face for the media instead of actually doing anything to show that she has the right to be up herself. Including that infamous "betsu ni" incident. e_dimension can manage a better translation than me, but basically she said three lines:

MC: On the subject of your soon to be released movie, please say something to the audience.
Sawajiri: Thank you everyone for being here today.

MC: Which particular scene did you think was particularly memorable?
Sawajiri: None at all.
MC: There isn't? Ah...there isn't. So all of them were quite memorable? Or not? Umm...
Sawajiri: *Completely ignores MC*

MC: How did you think of the baking of the cookie? (Referring to rumour)
Sawajiri: Whatever.
The MC then tries to encourage Sawajiri to say a bit more, and she turns and gives her the bitchiest look ever.

And I really shouldn't say this since I haven't watched 1 Litre of Tears, but I'm sure any number of actresses could have pulled that role off. Even - yes even though I hate them - Aragaki and Masami.

YouTube is blocked at work (so is a lot other things, sigh) so I can't see the video you're referring to, but I'm sure your translation is pretty accurate by itself -- as long as people get the basic gist of it xD

By God, while I have little to no problem with girls marrying a man so much older than themselves (some of them do work quite well, i.e. those with very old dads, lulz. One can say it's a mental age thing?), I always get this awkward feeling whenever I hear someone my age getting married. Sawajiri Erika is an extreme case since we were born on the exactly same date >.> Either I'm being stupid or this young marriage rush thing needs to stop for the sanity of lower divorce rates D:

All that being said, I do hope she will be happy :3 The first time being a bride is like one of the most important moments in a woman's life *_*

Anyway, I've watched 1L of tears. It was pretty good. That's why I was very disappointed about when I found out more about the actress. I felt that she didn't deserve the role that she acted in, because the heroine was so much better than her!

Yes, the age difference does sound right. There was news that she was dating someone significantly older than her, and that she was acting really rude to press and people, etc.

Whereas the character in of 1L of tears was so much more pure, innocent, had so much LIFE, and so much more to give...

Anyway, I better get back to work. Lol.

Well I'm sure lots of actors aren't quite as good as their fictional counterparts...they're actors after all LOL But yeah I know what you mean. I think especially for Japanese actresses - I guess it's a cultural thing - most of their heroines tend to be the "sweet and pure" kind. And it's a shock when you find out how far from the truth that is with the actress. Masami's another good example ==;;;

And I have a feeling Sawajiri catapulted to fame with that role, but as I said it seemed like a role that any actress who could cry convincingly could have pulled it off. So it rather seemed like she doesn't deserve all the fame LOL

Well, her character didn't cry all that much, from memory. Since she was meant to be strong and optimisitic. I did quite like her character at least.

She and Sawajiri are known for their inability to get along =__=;;; There's rumours that they formed cliques to go up against each other Orz

That is just so true. I cried through 1L of Tears like some madwoman and I really liked Sawajiri Erika's acting in it, but zomg she's seriously been going downhill from there x.x

Sawajiri lost her dad when she was young, I'm not sure if that says anything psychologically ^shrug^

But you know, we always stand in the younger person's shoes and wonder about their motives...but what about the guy? Why do some men want to marry someone who's young enough to be his daughter? The urge to protect? @__@

I KNOW. I've never encountered anyone in my life with the exactly same birth year/month/date as me and it was a big surprise, even if she's a celebrity figure. Her losing dad at a young age must have made her mentally more mature than most... in certain ways, or she wouldn't have gone for such an old guy. Or maybe the guy is too immature even if he's old? Who knows ;D

Wow. I heard about this news, I even watched the interview thing but in Japanese so I didn't understand. 1 litre of tears is really nice as well as Taiyou no Uta. Maybe she's just really good in acting? :l
