28 Mar 2006 03:46 pmJenny shouted me lunch today ^0^~ So happy~~~
I want to eventually have a birthday party (with a small group of people x_x) at a teppanyaki place *___*
Anyway, after we left market city, we were blockaded by this girl who was apparently doing some nutrition survey. She didn't introduce herself or say for whom she was collecting the information. It went something like this:
Girl: Hi, would you like to do a survey?
Jenny + Me: ......
Girl: Of course you do!!! Alright!
Me (looking at the form she's holding): Can we not give you our names and contact details and addresses?
Girl (annoyed look): Of course. First question, what do you feel about your lifestyle? Calm? Stressed? Angry?
Jenny + Me: .......
Jenny: None of above?
Me: Normal?
Girl (more annoyed look): Alright fine. Do you think you're getting your daily intake of nutrition?
Jenny: What is the daily intake of nutrition?
Girl: You know, 5 to 7 servings of fruits and vegetables.
Jenny + Me: (How big is one serving?)
Girl: Did you finish high school?
Jenny nods confusedly
Girl: Well, you learned it in high school, in primary school, the food pyramid thing.
Jenny + Me: (...Are you implying we're idiots?)
Jenny (referring to answer): Yes.
Me: Sometimes.
Girl: Can I just get your names so I could keep a record of who said what?
Jenny + Me: .........
Girl: You can make up a name.
Jenny + Me: .........
Girl (really annoyed): Is it really that hard?!
Jenny (to me): Er, so what name do you want to be?
Girl (walks away): Alright, thanks for your time.

That's what happens when data collection is done on unwilling and uncompliant subjects. Hmph.
...Besides, the food pyramid is only a rough guideline. Optimum nutrition intake is dependent on everything from genetics to age to daily metabolic needs. And why is it that only fruits and vegetables count in "nutrition intake"?
...Besides, they're not getting much representative (of Australian, or even Sydney, population) data by collecting them in front of Chinatown >___>
(As you can tell I have done too much epidemiology)
