Death Note
4 May 2004 08:25 pmReading that right now, comes from the artist for Hikaru no Go (I'm not sure if the writer is the same too). It's a very different genre, bordering more on horror/suspense rather than happy shounen HikaGo did. It's actually very interesting. Maybe I'm just not very exposed to that particular genre, but I'm finding it very gripping. The art gives it just enough tenseness without going too gruesome. The characters are captivating - or at least, their sharp intelligence is. The way Raito so coolly executes each criminal's death as he tries to lure out L, and the way L casts broader and broader nets as he tries to identify Raito is just...O________O And there's also a terrible irony in it all, the one who's having the last laugh being the shinigami who left the Death Note in the first place, and who offers his skeptic loyalty to Raito. I recommend! But I really don't want this to drag out to more than 5 volumes >__>
