mayoraaseiHmm... well at least my LJ doesn't get neglected now with all these rants on Gundam Seed.
I'm starting to be a little more relenting about my take on Gundam Seed Destiny. I can see what the producers are trying to do with it - basically informing new fans who just got introduced to the series what happened in the original GSeed, so that they can get new audiences that haven't seen the original who won't be totally lost and confused.
Thus, though I resent intensely the number of flashbacks, I can sort of understand the whole point of them. Though it still pisses me off to see Shin's family die every episode.
Come episode 13 and 14, and finally Kira and co-Archangel-ers get most of the episodes to themselves. Though half of that is filled with flashbacks so that nothing of import actually happens except Archangel launching (complete with the symphony orchestra in the background) and Kira kidnapping Cagalli, leaving her fiance whimpering and blubbering amongst the pigeons. And it was sooooooo cliched! Snatching the bride away at the last second....ARGH, how many have this last second thing been done elsewhere?
And did all the strong-hearted men of Orb die when Cagalli's father blew up Orb 2 years ago? As soon as they saw Freedom approaching, everyone of them took to their heels and fled. Including those in military uniform. Oh the shame! How those people who died 2 years ago must be weeping in heaven!
I've been reading most of the episode summaries and reviews for Gundam series off this guy's site. (If you can get the series, do NOT read the summaries!) Our opinions are totally different! Lol!! Maybe it's a good place to try and get a different view of things, instead of only reading my rather biased rants...
I guess the way I looked at Destiny was different from the way he looked at it. I had expected it to be more or less a continuation of the old series, so though there will be new characters, they aren't any more prominent than the original cast....probably why I was a bit miffled when Kira did not appear until episode 6 and did nothing but look at the sunset for 6 episodes in a row. The web-master of that site is looking at it as a series on itself, and that's why he's complaining about old characters coming in too much...while I complain against old characters not coming in enough XD
And I thought there are more waaaaay more flashbacks in Destiny than there is in GSeed >__>; Though so far we haven't come across a recap episode yet! (GSeed recapped at 14, 26 and 27)
I can't get it out of my system that Shin's voice actor is the same guy that did Kamui (anime - Seki Tomokazu did the movie version, poor him). And Shin has a major sister complex (I'd say Kamui has a major...multiple major complexes). Wahahaha...it would be so funny for Kira to come up to Shin and say, "No, I am not Kira, I am Shin...When you chose to save the world, I became your reverse star, and I must destroy it..." *insert molest session*
.......No, that's actually very.....creepy.
If someone uses "watakushi" instead of "watashi", what sort of impression are they trying to give about their personality/status?
