A lot of groups actually turned up to the countdown O_o; I thought Kinki Kids would be missing as usual, and Arashi and Tokio would be stuck at the Red/White showdown, but they were all there, even V6 weren't out eating ramen this time XDDD As always Takki was on video link, and this year Kanjani8 as well from Osaka...so NEWS ended up with only five people. To think that the group debuted with 9 people...Orz

Most of the songs were so natsukashii~ T&T even sang "Sotsugyou". I LOVED that song...but man it was so long ago, back in the days the first Inuyasha series was running. Inuyasha had such popular artists.

Yamashita looks really wasted ==;;; I don't know what's wrong with him. I keep mistaking (in longshots) Shige for him because I keep thinking he should look better than that. Is he really going into Code Blue 2 like that? *Palmface*

Toma appeared~~ Toma~~♥~~ He hasn't been onstage dancing in SO long...since 4tops split up? But he's in time with everyone else...Unlike Uchi, who is FAIL LOL.

Speaking of can't-dance-ness...LOL Kame, we all know you hate Shuuji to Akira, but try not to be so obvious about it XDDD Being about 1.5 beats behind everyone else, messing up the steps so badly that the poor Hey!Say!JUMP kid right behind you got confused too and messed up....tsk tsk! And Akanishi during Macchi's song...even though you cleverly hid yourself in the middle of the crowd, your out-of-time-ness is still really obvious since the people in front of you are shorter |||Orz

MatsuJun is so nice to Jin (and Toma~) XD Jin even pulled a 撒嬌 face...haven't seen him do that in soooooooo long ==;

The groups singing each other's songs bit was variously cool or hilarious XDDDD Arashi's rendition was probably the most on-tune version of "Sukiyanen Osaka" (K8) I've heard all these years =_____= It was so cute though XD In contrast, Kanjani8 singing "One love" (Arashi) had me curled up in my seat with my hands over my head. It didn't help that they were obviously doing a comedy version...My "One Love" T_______T What have you done to it T______T

I KNEEWWWW either KT would do NEWS' song or vice versa...uggghhhhhhh. This sudden KT/NEWS buddy-buddy act is starting to piss me off. Haven't heard the original version but at least KT singing together sounds on tune (unlike K8 who can't keep on tune even singing in a group...it's really scary actually Orz). Mr Akanishi again was...I don't know what he was doing =___= Not singing, obviously.

TOKIO singing KT's "Keep the Faith" sounds exactly as off-tune as it would if KT performed it................LOL.

年男 this year - Uchi, Massu and Kame, and poor Kokubun who is turning 36 so he wasn't put in the ranks. Aww...I would so want to see Koichi up there when he's 36 XDDD Tsuyoshi didn't shower him with flowers this year...awww...

Kamenashi Kazuya hates Shuji To Akira?! I love him all the more! I always thought he was hot, but now that I know he hates Shuji To Akira, I love him 100 times more, because I've read the book of Nobuta Wo Produce, and the drama is one of the most hideous adaptations I've ever seen, and I've seen A LOT of hideous adaptations. It changed the whole spirit of the story and just thinking about it makes me want to slap the "writers".

Also, where the hell have Hey!Say!Jump gone?! They were one of my favourite Johnny's artists and they haven't released anything in over a year. Come ON, Johnny's!

I had the fortune of never having read the book but the drama turned out nothing like the summaries I've seen around. The original sounded like a really good social commentary on idle cynical precocious teens who had a bigger image of themselves than they should, but the show was just full of...oh I don't know. Gay love? >___>;;; Orz Shuuji and Akira running about freely in the beach at sunset was just..........................WUT.

But I think he hates Shuuji to Akira for a different reason though ^^; It's all Johnny's politics: him being forced to debut before KAT-TUN did because of Shuuji to Akira, and he was assured at the time that the group was temporary, and that was the condition he accepted to go ahead with the debut, but for various reasons (possibly because Yamashita's keener on the group than he is?) it keeps reappearing. His wooden expression on this year's 24Hr special was pure gold XDDD

Maybe with Yamada's new drama HSJ will have a new song? *Crosses fingers*

The original was AMAZING, and the show was one big crack dream. I don't have anything against people doing drugs, but, um, the "masterpieces" you make while high? Yeah, don't sell them to TV studios, kthx.

My opinion of Yamashita Tomohisa has gone down now that I've heard he LIKES the crack dream group. I always found him overhyped anyway, but for him to LIKE it... And it's not like he needs to endure it to brownnose, as he's one of Johnnys' golden boys, so he must actually like it, and for that I want to smack him. And GOD, do I wish I could see Kamenashi Kazuya's "Please God let me die" expression. XD

Most of the original recordings have been removed, which is a pity XD From beginning to end, Kame did not crack a single smile, the bit where they're supposed to put their thumbs together was done about half a meter apart, and Kame handed the mic to Yamashita's friend to sing half the song (the annoyed expression that flickered across Yamashita's face when he did that was PURE GOLD).

But Shuuji to Akira was the height of their careers, which is surprising for a drama that was pretty poor ==;

Oh my God, Yamashita DOES like that shit! Maybe he's trying to cling to his Nobuta fame - does that mean he's not doing as well as it looks like and he's feeling the pressure? Or does he REALLY LIKE that garbage?! God, I would DIE to see that performance. I wonder if [Unknown site tag] have/will upload it...

As for it being popular even though it was garbage - the first Twilight movie was apparently thrown together in ten minutes flat, to the point where you could SEE THE ACTORS' HARNESSES in some shots, but that still sold millions, so people's reactions are no indication of quality. XD

Kame doesn't like Shuuji to Akira? Oh thank goodness. I don't like Seishuu Amigo at all and I always wondered at its popularity... but all these recent performances of this song's been making me wonder whether they're trying to revive the group or something...

btw, from some of your other entries, you sound like a med student? And you're also from Sydney? Which uni do you go to (if you don't mind me asking)? Because I also study med in Sydney...

Well, we're required to have done another Bachelor's degree before this, so in total we're at uni for longer than you guys although we do end up with 2 degrees ^^

Late comment is late, but anyway. To be fair, both Yamapi and Kame were messing up the dance. One kept turning ahead of time and the other was late. They just don't care anymore, LOL. Let the song die a happy death. They never even look at each other in ANY of the performances post 2005. Yabu smiley and happy backdancing for them was the best thing about their performance this countdown.

I have to agree with you that Arashi's was the best version (vocally) of "Sukiyanen Osaka" I have ever heard (and Sho was adorable at the end).

K8's one love was painful but amusing in a WTF? way. Worst cover (vocally), but possibly the most entertaining after Arashi's.

They did look at each other in the end and say "Akira ♥" "Shuuji ♥" Ah Kame. I hate you for your free unnecessary fanservice. At least he's more on tune than Yamapi, even if he forgets when to start singing LOL.

The so-called PARK (Yamapi-Akanishi-Ryou-Kame...why not KRAP? LOL) "Seishun Amigo" performance (was it 07?) was the most hilarious one in slash pairing terms XDDDDDDDDD On a whole I'm not into most slash pairings but the amount of fangirl screams was pretty funny.

Yeah, I was giggling nonstop during K8 "One Love" even though I was also whimpering XDDD It was the costume choice as well XDDDDD

Ah, yes, I forgot the Best Artist Performance. Okay, they looked at each other that ONE time. Ah, well. They don't really get along all that well, so I suppose it would show.

The costumes added points! What a time to get into their ranger outfits. (And Ryo flailing in the beginning was hilarious.)
