About two weeks ago, the faculty insidiously added three extra assessments into our timetable - two formative (i.e. doesn't count officially) and one barrier assessment - all on anatomy.
I HATE anatomy by the way and I think I barely scraped past last year's barrier.
Anyhow, this was right on the heel of an announcement by the faculty that "Your academic obligations come before any other" and "The requirements are set out at the beginning of each year and therefore you should have no excuses [for clashes etc]".
Heaps of people worked themselves up into a storm over this, which was kinda funny, because no one actually seemed against the idea of having an assessment, but it was all the principle of the thing you see.
And today, the faculty announced that all three assessments have now been withdrawn in accordance with faculty policy (which stated that assessment requirements needed to be made clear at the beginning of the year).
What can I say, we have law graduates in our course =v=
