gakuen alice chapter 109 summary

mayoraaseiOkay, I think I'm going to do a template entry from now on because people don't necessarily read back entries Orz
I'm getting confused by the release schedule. Why is it out so fast? =0=;;;
1) Thank you everyone for the comments. I don't reply to most of them since they're from anonymous accounts (so you don't get notifications), but it lets me know that people want these summaries.
2) I read the scans from Chinese websites. English scanlations seem slower to release and harder to hunt down, so this is for fans who want faster gratification.
3) For the sake of your own privacy, please do not write your email address in your comments.
4) (Edit) English scanlations are hosted here at Mangafox. If it's not there I don't know where you can get it. Please support the author by buying licensed releases where possible.
5) PSP = Primary School Principal. MSP = middle school/junior high, HSP = high school/senior high etc.

* Still in flashback: Narumi is holding Yuka's hand and pulling her after him. His narration: "This was an unrequited love from the start. In a sense, my love started from a heartbreak. It's so obvious but I don't feel sad about it at all. More than anything, the joy of being in love is itself a miracle. Even if I cannot let her know my thoughts, she would smile by my side." As Yuka runs after Narumi she asks what's going on and he tells her not to worry about it. Narration continues: "If it's for the sake of protecting her smile...I will do anything." He tells her to just expect something good.
* They run into the Special Abilities class (SA LOL...er ahem) and OMG I COULDN'T TELL WHO IT WAS because Yukihira's hair has grown so long that he looks like an older Ruka. Or someone. All her characters look the same. Yuka and Narumi cracks up at his hair, and Yukihira yells at them in embarrassment. Umm...I should probably note here that this hair is about the same hair that all flashbacks of Yukihira had been - so it should be nearing the end (of the flashback) soon =(
* Half a year had passed, Narumi (13) is now in first year of junior high and Yuka (15) in third year. The other kids ask why Yukihira changed his hair and flashback to two days ago...the HSPrincipal is reading his newspaper when he coughs and says, "I was always going to say...Isn't your hairstyle a bit...out of style?" Yukihira then gets worked up about the fact that his bro took 6 years to tell him this, while the kids are like "OMG Whatever...just get lost you weird brother complex guy" XDDD
* Narumi narration: By this time, with Yukihira's help, Yuka's able to clear up the misunderstandings with the other people in Special Class and form a few friendships. But even so she's still being ostracised in school.
* Yuka remarks that Narumi got taller and is now 170. 170...really... Narumi does a pose and says that he got more popular as a result, while Yuka's totally "whatever" XD Narumi narration says he wants to grow up, even if just a little, and overtake Yuka, so that (I don't really get the wording of this) he could turn everything unfortunate about her into something worth smiling about? Or become the one reason she could smile in spite of all the misfortune? Anyway, you get the point.
* Yuka tells Narumi off for abusing his Alice and attracting hordes of girls again. She tells him to shrink his interest down to one girl, since it's getting annoying that his girlfriends are starting to bother her as well. Meanwhile, a bunch of bullies hiding behind trees discuss that some people left school because their Alice faded (probably the "grow up and fade" kind Alice), and they're blaming it on Yuka. One throws a rock at Yuka, which Narumi catches before Yuka notices. He glares at them and they scuffle off.
* Narumi narration: Yuka never showed any hint of depression in front of me, but by chance I saw that time, when Yuka-senpai cried - It shows sitting Yuka in the rain and standing before her, Yukihira telling her that every Alice can be used for good or evil, and that if you're born into the world with it, then it must have some important meaning.
* Narumi realises that it's because he's being "protected" that Yuka would never show that part of herself to him. So he will pretend that he doesn't know about it and support her, and grow up beside her. He suddenly glomps Yuka and whines "But I feel lonely~~~" She tells him not to do weird things (like glomping her) again.
* In the distance, Kaoru watch them and smile to herself, and remark "That's very brave. Contrary to your looks, it's very cute isn't it?"
* Yukihira gives her A Look™ and says that she's prying into other people's affairs again. She has news for him - she confirms that all the animosity directed towards Yuka was being encouraged and controlled by the PSPrincipal.
* The next bit is a bit confusing, because I'm not sure who all the nicknames refer to. I'm guessing "the Princess" refers to MSP, and sensei refers simply to Yukihira. Kaoru says that he wants Yuka to be the cause of some unfortunate incident so that would force the Princess to turn Yuka over to him, but because Narumi is trying so hard to protect Yuka nothing has happened yet. Then Kaoru says that because of MSP(?) Yukihira is running into trouble everywhere as well and suggests that Yukihira let Yuka deal with things herself. She says that this is probably a test for Yuka, and says that Yukihira's overprotective, and at this rate Yuka would never be able to make it in the school on her own. Kaoru then says if things really turn bad she'll help out, but at this point they should let Yuka fight it out on her own. Then she says "It's decided~" and walks off, with Yukihira yelling "OI Why are you deciding all this by yourself?!"
* FINALLY we see Mikan et co. Mikan comments that for a while, this "Igarashi Kaoru" person has looked rather like someone she's seen... Natsume says "Who knows" while everyone else stares at Natsume and says "WE WONDER WHO..."
* Ah Noda, you always know when to cut into an important emotional moment =P Another time skip has occurred, and Noda comments that Yuka was caught by the evil guys. Mikan is getting worried over Yuka being so easily taken by the trap, while everyone else is watching Natsume. Mikan you're such a KLUTZ
* MSP says that "this new upheaval" was caused by Yuka, and PSP has suggested that she be listed as a troublemaker. She sends Yuka over to PSP. Kaoru cuts in and tries to point out that it wasn't Yuka's fault, but MSP says that she wonders why a girl with so little talent and virtues would be so important to the PSP. It was all because of her Theft Alice. Others add that it's because she's his lover. Kaoru laughs and says that since she's going to be taken away anyway, why not let her demonstrate. MSP says she's not interested in the Theft Alice. Kaoru says that she doesn't meant the Theft Alice...but that if Yuka could steal Alices and then also implant them into other people's bodies, if the PSP hadn't realised this aspect of it...Kaoru then smirks and says that it seems interesting.
* MSP suddenly changes her attitude and gives Yuka a hime name and says that PSP's request had to be refused because Yuka belongs to Hanahime now. MSP then says that there's a lot of Alice Stones given by HSP (Longevity Alice) but they seem to be getting weaker. "I'm looking forward to your help," she says, with a very winsome smile.
* Yuka panics and says that she doesn't even know if she has the power. Kaoru slams a naginata in next to her neck and says that she'll need to FIND that ability if she doesn't have it at the moment. She points out as long as Yuka's under MSP's protection, she'll need to do as she's told, or she'll be sent back to PSP immediately. She tells her not to twitter like a little bird asking for food, "If you're a real woman, you'll need to win the freedom on your own strength." WOOT for feminism LOL!
* Noda says that it was thanks to Kaoru's threats that Yuka worked so hard and managed to learn how to implant Alice Stones. This was able to earn Yuka the everlasting trust of MSP, which remains even today. He points out that more importantly, it was the first time that Yuka was able to see others truly be grateful for her Alice. Mikan suddenly remembers that when they went through the hanahime hall, MSP had told her to bring her greetings to Mikan's mother.
* Tono comments that this was why when Z broke into the school, they had such free rein because MSP was the person in charge of the barrier.
* Ruka asks Noda to tell them more about Kaoru. Noda says that Kaoru and Yuka later became best friends, at which Mikan screams "EHHH USO!" LOL. Apparently Kaoru's kindness behind her strictness gave Yuka a lot of confidence. Noda says "after that event", it was also Kaoru who, in spite of all the dangers, took in Yuka after she ran away from school. He turns to Natsume and says "Your mother has always been loved by everyone. Loving everyone...stronger than anyone. A very good person. At least as far as I saw, everyone loved your mother."
* The chapter ends with older Kaoru (with shorter hair) holding a baby in her arms. NO I DON'T KNOW IF IT'S MALE OR FEMALE =P Everyone is giving Natsume sad looks, while Natsume simply looks pensive. Well it's hard to tell with her art.
Whew...that was long.
I have to say...Kaoru has more charisma than her son.
If I'm not reading this wrong...the next issue will be released March 5th (Hana to Yume issue 7). Long wait ahead.
