Spent the last few days wrapping and wrapping and wrapping.

Most of the people were very nice, although a few got a bit impatient today with the wait, I think.

Started today off wrapping 18 keyrings. 18!!!!!! Well, I gave 4 to Jenny, but 18!!!!!!!

Also spent the last 3 days wrapping about 20 Elizabeth Arden perfumes from the same lady. Elizabeth Arden probably sends her best wishes for the holiday season and a thank you for supporting the brand. Though that's kind of creepy considering she's dead.

People kept talking to me in Mandarin >__>;;

There's also this wonderful Boost Guy, whose real name is Alex, but he gave us free Boost drinks, so we called him the Free Boost Boost Guy! And as a result Jenny will now have 2 sons named Alex, or one son named Alex and the other named Boost Guy.

I let Jenny wrap a Wii today! LOL

I also wrapped a DVD boardgame of Northern Lights?

There's an earlier episode involving Jenny screaming embarrassing things in front of an ATM, leading to guy waiting behind me giving us prolonged weird looks >_>;;;;;;;;;;;

In other news, I got allocated to Concord Hospital for clinical placement!

To all of you chortling through your nose, it's the closest hospital after Royal Prince Alfred, damn it! Stupid Sydney Uni doesn't have any clinical schools down south, and the rest are in Westmead, north shore (St Leonards/Hornsby/Manly) and Penrith. Penrith! That's not even Sydney!

So yeah, I didn't expect to get RPA, so I'm pretty happy with Concord =)

Shall need to get a functional driver's license before year 3 =/

Also have to work out whether I'll be in first year or fifth year next year.....Orz

glad you're enjoying the giftwrapping =P. It's the same at our end ... wrapping wrapping and wrapping... and getting busier by the day. Just to let you know, you can limit the number of presents people can get wrapped down to 2 or 3 instead of wrapping 18 / 20 when there's long queues. It makes things fairer don't you think? =)

Talking bout wrapping, hows your team besides Jenny? The other girl wrapping with us is a bit ....dense at times. She puts a limit of 2 on even when there's no one in line and the person only has like 4 mini chocolates!!! and because we have no chairs she sits on the table which annoys the hell out of me!!! It's so not pro and I've had the most frustrating time trying to tell her off >.< I mean, come on, who sits on top of a counter to serve customers?? Sure, giftwrapping might be just a casual one off thing, but still! Seriously if we were in Miranda, Centre Management will be on the phone first thing calling Blue Ribbon to complain. ARRRGGGHH. And can you believe out of all the sticky tape dispensers we have (like 5 of them) only ONE is FUNCTIONAL!!!!!

The stupidity of it all... And just yesterday the other girl's sister totally forgot to come so we had 2 wrappers and there were long long long queues..........

sorry... i just had to complain and get that out of my system. I shall disappear and stop spamming your space now =P

As to getting a job placement, finally!!! CONGRATS! lol, and good luck for your future driving lessons =D

The other girl is cool. I think she's done this for quite a few years, so it's all good. We've got chairs but only 2 curved tables, so poor Jenny have had to wrap in the gap Orz

Yeah, we try to avoid doing ribbons when the queue is long (only when they ask), but they're all savvy now, damn it! They all give us death stares and demand ribbons ToT

Huh what the hell? I never applied for a job placement? =/ What's with the "finally"?

Lol the Concord Hospital placement is for my clinical school. I'll be there for the next 4 years for the clinical (patient contact) component of the course. All prospective students get a place, but there are five choices. I'm so glad I didn't get kicked to Nepean (Penrith).

well yes... i meant clinical placement >.< if it means work it = job, but in ur case I suppose it means unpaid job which cancels job out? XD =p

and yea, we have curved tables too and rather high ones at that >< (around chest level) and I have deliberately positioned myself in the gap to prevent table sitting by aforementioned annoying girl. As to ribbons I do the simple ones unless they demand the fancy ones. Otherwise it's simple

Oh we had two mean ladies. One of them (another girl wrapped for her) said, "LOOK AT HOW LAZY YOU HAVE BEEN WITH MY PRESENTS!" when she did the simple bow Orz

The other lady when I did the simple bow for her, looked at it and said, "IS THAT IT?!"

admittedly, I don't know if I'll have kids, or if so, who'll be their dad, so I dunno whether it's ok to call my second born son 'boost guy', or name two sons 'alex'.

but that doesn't mean I won't try.. ;)!

a limit on presents seems like an awesome idea! also I find it a bit annoying when some people jump the queue and drop presents off, and then come back later. even if they want to come back later, I don't think they should cut in line.

Hahaha Giftwrapping! You should have wrapped my gifts. I did such a bad last minute job, i mean the wrapping paper was ripped in so many places. o_o LOL
