mayoraaseiIt lies passively before me, patient in its nonchalant stillness, all 10 cm of it, waiting.......
The cover is an unassuming, tarnished gold. Thin, simple font embossed in silver state the name of the book and its edition. The author's name is in the same modest font, of an even more modest size. The only other decoration is three thin rings surrounding one large ring, around which is a bright rouge inscription in an alien tongue. In the same hue, at the very centre of the ring, is a picture of a flaming red eye.
Aye, I, my friends, have embarked on a life-changing journey.
Inside the cover is a black and red print of a map made familiar by the movies. The next pages, of a warm off-white, is printed with small but clean font: THE LORD OF THE RINGS.
.......No! I haven't read it before!
I hope this will somehow force me to cram it down my throat (yeah, I make it sound so unpleasant). It was bad memories from The Hobbit, I tell you.
Where are all my bookmarks when I need them? ==;
I quite like the cover - although I bought it because it was the only edition that wasn't printed on grey tissue paper, but on a pretty ivory beige - unalarming, prudent, symbolic. Who needs an artist's rendition of Gandalf, anyway?
I hope to finish it after Lymond but before, say, Fushigi Yuugi ends. *Crosses fingers*

Chinese - Vampire Knight 3 is coming out this month!! But it probably won't get here until end of May. I'm debating whether or not I should collect the 4 volumes of Penguin Kakumei that's been released, thereby perfectly using up those nice, crispy Kino vouchers ♥ No updates on Gakuen Alice though I wish EverGlory would STOP CHANGING THEIR CLASSIFICATIONS. The Japanese Fushigi Yuugi 6 was published 26/3, so we should hopefully get the Chinese version within the next 6 months.....*sigh* Fruits Basket 22 was out at Kino a few days ago.
Japanese - Vampire Knight 5, Penguin Kakumei 5 and Host Club 10 are out this month. Last month saw the FINAL VOLUME (23) OF FRUITS BASKET with Kyoko (Tooru's mum) on the cover. I think.
