Had not much to do over the past few days (apart from listening to my dad whine about how little I had to do), so spent it watching TV...

Naively, thinking that it finished at 8:30 and not 10:30pm, watched Australian idol =0=;;;;;;; Can't believe I spent 2 hours sitting in front of the TV wondering when the verdict would be.

As a matter of rarity, I actually liked both Jess Mauboy and Damien Leith's voice...even though Damien's rendition of Night of My Life last week spiralled off-tune about 20 times...

Whatever people said about last year's contestants, I didn't like Emily Williams' voice. The way she sang high notes really grated my nerves.

I liked Mauboy's voice. She has the kind of voice I wouldn't mind listening to on the radio, it's full but unpretentious.

Also watched Australia's Brainiest Idol (or whatever it was called)...

My jaw nearly hit the floor when someone said "pass" on a question that asked "how many natural satellites does the Earth have?"

I guess they're too busy serenading to look outside the window on a moonlit night.


Edit: Mozart's Symphony no. 31 makes me smile...don't know why XD Maybe it's the whole "pinkness" of Mozart to begin with XD I can't believe the clarinet part has one note that have to be held for 33 beats =0=||||||| And it's in D major...which translates to E for clarinet...T___T Don't like things with too many sharps and flats.

I was betting (with myself. damn, I'm such an unprofitable target :/) that damien would win (did he?) ^_^

..although actually I have to admit I don't think damien is as great as they make him out to be, though he is definitely quite good.

Yes, he did, in fact. And he had to sing his debut song again, this time in tune (quite impressed).

He has an amazing falsetto.

He looked totally floored when he won, which was rather cute XD I don't think he expected to win, so he ummed and errred and acted generally speechless.

And while he was singing, he kept looking stunned by the fireworks and tinsel confetti that's blowing about behind him on the stage...ahem, he should be looking at the audience.

Night of my life rocks, its the first idol song that grew on me and dont sound very corny at all. Esp towards the chorus, "the night of my lifeeee...." arrrghhh so close but cant reach it =(


I preferred Damien's singing in the week before. And hmmmm...for some reason all the songs sang on the night sounded fully crap. (Shannon's lonely became part-yelling >.< love the song though, and had no idea why Guy didnt go with his MTV version of elevator love, thought he was NOT going to sing that song in the first place)

I like the song "When you believe", so yeah =P I bet she sounded better than Mariah Carey.

I thought dean geyer was a rather nice guy (although I don't think his voice was good enough for him to be in the top 3), even though the media tried to pass him off as some sort of pretty boy.

Singing skills dont matter as much as the whole package,

Dean's got a contract already. Guess he is more marketable to the rest.
But man....his version of Iris wasnt all that impressive, too young imo.

Shes the pretty young girl with the sandy/low voice. Who never seems to be singing in groups/choruses.
