I was looking through the SUAnime website (Sydney Uni anime club) at their user art gallery. I'm usually picky in amateur anime art, whether it is fan art or original art, so it's rare I come across stuff that I really respect. And sometimes fan artists focus too much on copying a direct picture than copying a style...
Anyway, I came across some very nice pictures in the SUAnime site...Most of them is by a user called "ravescar" (first few):
The Ragnarok fan arts are cool! I love how the lines are so crisp and clean, nice details too. The proportions are very good and the expression (erm, expression as in, the way the art is expressed, not the character's expression) is confident.
The original art pieces are... Cute. I have a thing about drawing cutesy anime girls. I think it's a "chickening out" way of drawing. Cute digicharat-type girls are easy to draw, and whatever you get, people will go "awww", and it's easy to get good at it. I want to see more people drawing bishounens, damn it! （终于把阴谋说出来了）
And this one is just glompy-ness all over: Chibi-L (Well, only if you're read Death Note XD Then the incongruence strikes you).
On the note of L, all you people who liked HikaGo should go and read Death Note! It's not even licensed, only has about 35 chapters released in scans, so I should hear no complaints! *Waggles finger* It is the coolest suspense/detective manga I've read so far, and drawn none other than Obata-sensei (person who drew HikaGo). You'll find it on #orangetangerine@irc.rizon.net, or you can go to the #OT site to download it (I think they still have direct downloads). Go read instead of watching Naruto! (You can watch Naruto after you've read it =P)
