Come to think of it, why are characters named "Will" often earnest, naive, if a little stupid?

Which previously only had one item:

1. Why do major character fantasy princes on the good side often have names starting with "A"?



On the other hand...is it just me...or was Will Turner's dad Bootstrap Bill? O__o;;; Then why does it say here that Bill was Jack's dad?!? O__o;;;;;

I wouldn't say Will from Will and Grace is earnest and naive... he's more like... the epitome of awesome. So's Jack. :D
