beyond the edge

The world of adulthood is a trap.

You think you are grown up, you think you are experienced. You then approach every problem with the same approach, because "it has always worked before". You stop changing, but the world doesn't stop with you. You stay stationed in the flow, stubbornly believing you are right, unfailingly so.

You stop looking at the world as a place to learn. You believe that age is the measure of wisdom, and stop listening to the voices of those younger than you. You become conceited, dismissing everything as youthful ignorance.

You forget the gift of ignorance, the refreshingly uncomplex view it brings to the world. Ideals cease to be anything more than foolish wishes, and the world begins to discolour. It greys, everything becomes a mean and an end for money.

You scorn romance and sentiments, they are nothing more than the plaything of childhood. You forget what they mean. The world drains empty, but you do not notice. You fill it with self-importance. You forget that respect is mutual, and demand it without return.



Let that be a warning to myself ==;;;

爲什麽明明知道不在，還是會在人群中尋找。知道會失望，卻還是帶著滿滿的期望……

知道不會得到，還是會拼命的去喜歡，埋沒自己，失去理智。傷心，卻覺得好像痛快。

Random introspective post #1:

My hobbies ^0^

I like drawing because I find it calming - though I'm told some people find doing maths calming >___> It's something for me to do when I can listen to music at the same time, which I found, through experience, does not work while doing maths. It's a nice, quiet exercise and involves no brain activity! I like the fact that it's something that after I finish, I can always (unless I lose it) come back and look at and feel proud of (erm, if it turns out nice...) I like it because it's tangible, and it's a way to actually visualise characters I've written about.

(PS: I can only draw anime styled ==; I can't draw real people *sob*)
(PPS: I want a tablet! Or a slave who'll CG for me...*glint in eyes*)

Web design/graphic editting - it's like a game of chance! You never know what you'll end up with and whether it'll be nice or not (okay, this is just my way of doing things =P I know some people have a drawing board where they have everything plotted out). There's so much possiblities! And requires no brain activity either!

Reading - lately I've been reading more manga than books, which is NOT good ~~; My grammar, vocabulary and imagination has gone to frighteningly low levels...gah. But! Reading manga is so much brainless fun! (Okay, there's definitely a trend here) One day I'd like to have the time to sit back and read again... but lately I've been avoiding books known to be depressing because...well, I don't want to be depressed >.< It's limiting my scope to very shallow...children's books....=___=;;; (Damn it, I'm too scared to even pick up Isobelle Carmody again >.< But I want to get through her Darksong trilogy!! I hate knowing only half the story.)

Writing - hrm ^^; it's not a hobby I talk about much online ^^; From the masses at...various congregational websites, not mentioning any names, it seems that...well, everyone "likes writing". And reading their works sometimes makes you feel like the perception of "writing" is open to anyone who can put words together (well, technically speaking, it's true...though half of them don't even put it together in a grammatically correct way). Some of them go on about how they've always "loved writing"...and you wonder why they didn't get better. It's also annoying how some of the 4 unit works I've read last year weren't much better than those "tuppenny" pulp fiction novels you get, and this is coming from people who've supposedly "always loved writing"....ugh. That rant aside, I do like writing, but I have a fair amount to improve on. It's a hobby that always keeps me occupied, which is good ^^ Any short lengths of time usually spent dozing off or staring blankly into the atmosphere can be spent thinking about doing evil things the plot.



=____= Slee~~~py~~~ If anyone wants, I'll detail the lovely dissection of the cane toad earlier this week, for the benefit of people who did not do it even though they were supposed to *glares * Not mentioning any names *glares in one particular direction* I don't think I understood any more about the nervous system from doing that dissection anyway. It was freaky to see the heart still pumping away after it's been detached from the body. I wonder if human hearts do that too, after they've been taken from donors, for example...
