(V17) Tooru finds out that Kureno was already freed from the curse, but he doesn't know why. Isuzu goes after Kureno and has not been seen since. Shigure reveals that he sleeps with Akito's mum, Akito sleeps with Kureno, Shigure hates Kureno because Kureno sleeps with Akito.
(V18) The third years have graduated (this include Kagura and Isuzu, who wasn't present at her graduation). Yuki x Machi are apparently going well, since he gets to touch her bra and all (okay, it was stuffed into his hand by Manabe...) Don't really feel like summarising this bit (even though it was a good chapter or two).
Kureno discovers that Isuzu was locked up at the little hut for locking up cats (after they're of age). He helps free her and she is taken to hospital by Hatori. Apparently Isuzu tried to get to Kureno within the main house and ran into Akito's mum (I have no idea what that kanji for her name is...heck, I don't even know how it's pronounced in Chinese). She tells Isuzu that she knows how to break the curse, in return she wants Isuzu to steal a wrapped box from Akito's room. Isuzu is discovered by Akito in the middle of the theft and she's locked up.
Hatsuharu finds out from Hiro that the injury on Isuzu's back was caused by Akito and aggressively confronts Akito about it. He leaves in anger and Kureno advises that he doesn't return to the main house again. Isuzu starts boarding at Kyou's Master's house. Kyou complains a little to Tooru, but ends the conversation with "oh well, at least he won't feel lonely". Tooru hears the other half of the sentence that he didn't say, "When I am gone".
Shigure overhears this short exchange and smirks (or smiles...but it looks like a smirk) to himself. The next day he pays Isuzu a visit in the afternoon and tells her that Akito's mother lied to her about knowing how to break the curse. However, the curse is bound to break by itself sooner or later - after all, he reasons, it was made a long time ago. Isuzu seems satisfied with that, but Tooru, who happened to come for a visit, shouts that it's not enough...that it had to be broken before next spring, before Kyou is imprisoned...
So, what is Shigure planning? He obviously predicted that Tooru would be visiting Isuzu and had timed his visit to coincide with hers. Hiro...and in fact almost everyone has grown a lot tamer. Except Hatsuharu, who really blew his top this time.
Instead of the heated passion the series had when it started - whether it was the humour, the anger, the hatred - it seems to have faded into a sort of melancholy. Everyone in Shigure's household knows that Kyou's free days are coming to an end. Kyou and Tooru do not speak of it to each other. Yuki is aware but whatever he might think of it, he has been careful to keep it to himself.
The thing about Kyou's Master's grandad still bugs me. It means that he would have had a child before he came of age..........................
