It's rare to see so much praise heaped upon a teen book centered on a 16-year-old girl...

But is it just me or does the premise scream "BATTLE ROYALE RIP-OFFFFF."

Has failed to be impressed =/

I've read the entire series and I loved it. I've been reccing it to all my friends, and they've found it just as gripping. The female protagonist is one of the fiercest I've encountered in YA novels and that's a huge plus for me, not to mention the plot is incredibly suspenful and cleverly written. It's not a heavy reading since the writing is actually quite simple. I recommend the series if you have the time. :)

Yep, it is seriously, SERIOUSLY awesome. Once you start reading a book, you have to complete it or else you'll be suffering. Read it, seriously.

The first book is amazing. The second book is okay (read it for the supporting characters that are awesome). The last book almost made me want to kill myself. Depressing shit, yo, and not as tightly-plotted as the first.

But yeah. It is sort Battle Royale-ish but it (at least the first book) deserves all the praise that it got.
