Watched about 8 episodes of this...==;;;;;

And I'm feeling disappointed so far.

That was being nice....

IT'S REALLY PISSING ME OFF ›_____________&lsaquo

Okay, the story is set a bit more than a year after Kira et co ended the war, but begins with the Orb War. During the Orb War, Kira had gone up against the 3 drug-addicted pilots, and the battle had gone ahead even while the civilians were yet to finish evacuating. Shinn Asuka and his family were hurrying towards the evacuating ship when his younger sister, Mayu, dropped her mobile phone down the hill. Shinn jumped down to retrieve it...and Freedom Gundam does the multiple-beam-thing that it does. One of the beam had obviously misfired and killed Shinn's family.

(*How did it misfire?? Kira always locked onto his targets before he fired that multi-shot-thing.)

A year later, Orb representative Cagalli approaches the new Chairman of ZAFT wanting them to drop their projects on developing Gundams because it was originally Orb's technology, and she doesn't want it used in preparation against another war. Halfway through their negotiations, the three new Gundams made by ZAFT were stolen by three teenagers - led in by soldiers dressed in ZAFT uniform. Shinn then launches in his own Gundam and we find out that he has joined the ZAFT military, whilst harbouring a strong resentment for Orb.

During the chase by Minerva - a new battleship made by ZAFT - after the stolen Gundams, they receive news that Junius 7 - now made into a memorial for the war and for the tragedy of Bloody Valentine - has suddenly changed its orbit and is on collision course with Earth. They rush over trying to destroy it, but gets attacked by radicals who obviously believed that the war should have continued. Minerva descends with Junius 7 through the atmosphere and uses its gunfire to fracture the object, but it still caused widespread destruction all over Earth. Blue Cosmos (an anti-Coordinator terrorist group), under a new leader Jibril (interesting considering the last leader was Azrael...), urges all nations on Earth to stand against the Coordinators. Cagalli returns to Orb to find that all the ministers wanted to join the Alliance too...and thus heads the first hints of another war coming.

There are a lot of new faces, and we also see some of the old faces. Athrun, in fact, has had more screentime than the main character Shinn so far. I think the scriptwriter felt sorry for Athrun's fans ==; I mean, he did have about a third of the screentime of Kira last time...

Kira doesn't appear until about episode 5, and for the next few episodes, he does nothing but POSE *rampant stabbage* He's acting like a war veteran - sitting on a rocking chair on the verandah gazing out into the sunset - HOW BLOODY CHEESY CAN YOU GET?! ›.‹!!! He and Lacus look exactly like husband and wife...and the sight of so many children (war orphans) surrounding them is just..............

Uh, when Athrun visits him and talks about his encounter on Junius 7, Kira pats him on the shoulder...but because of the perspective, I thought he patted him on the leg. NO I HAVE NOT BEEN READING YAOI!!!!!

I'm also pissed off at Cagalli, who's been rendered verbally inept. There are so many ways Athrun and Cagalli could have responded to Shinn's accusations, I can't believe all they did was look stricken ARGH(@#%&@~!!!!

I mean seriously, he says, "When you guys stuck with your stupid ideals, you didn't think about all the people who would have died, did you?"

"WELL BLOODY HELL YES!!! WTF!! If Orb had joined the war then EARTH WOULD HAVE BEEN DESTROYED YOU BLOODY MORON!!"

That, should have been what Cagalli said. Instead of whimpering like the girl she is not and completely pissing me off! Argh!! Who does he think ended the war? It was the very people who was fighting for Orb's ideals. GRRRR...!!!! And him shouting that she doesn't understand anything, who does he think she is?? She was at the battle of Jakin Due, and no sane person can forget the trail of carnage left behind by Genesis. Even if that scene was animated, even I thought it was terrifying and gruesome.

...Although mass destruction does have its appeal ^^v

I don't like Shinn very much...not least of all because his name reminds me of..."Shinji x Asuka" *shudders* But he looks almost exactly like Kira (we better not get something like, "Shinn, I'm your father." *head desk multpile times*) apart from the hair colour and eye colour...in the opening I can't tell them apart. One of the Gundam thieves looks almost exactly like Cagalli...which is why, in the opening, where she and Shinn were jumping into each other's arms, I was thinking, "WTF?! YOU BOY!!! GET YER HANDS OFF ATHRUN'S CHICK!!" And there's a Lacus impersonator. You have to sort of wonder about the art department...

The number of new trendy long-haired bishounens really irks me. The plot really irks me. I mean, Shinn obviously joined the military after his family died, which meant that he's only been in the military for a year, so HOW did he get good enough to be chosen to pilot Impulse, something obviously considered top-notch and would have had a top-notch pilot to go with it. Even if, okay, he is good, how did he get so good? All of his training would have been after the war, and with so little battle experience, how did he get better than other top cadets (like Rey) who were probably in the military for longer?

He's probably a Coordinator, though there's no mention of that yet..it shouldn't be surprising, I guess. If Kira could be in Orb-owned Heliopolis, it shouldn't be surprising that he would be in Orb...^shrug^

And the flashbacks!! ARGH!!! I liked GSeed precisely because it didn't dwell so much on flashbacks (though...towards the end...ugh...) But in the first 8 episodes alone, there's been about 20 flashbacks. I've seen Shinn's family die at least 10 times! And Athrun's been doing nothing but flashing back (and occasionally kicking ass XD) and ditto with Cagalli. #@)(Q*%(*@@!#

And the launch sequence!! 3 launch sequences! What the heck!!! His entire launch + transformation sequence is like 4 times as long as that of Kira's...and I thought Kira's was pretty long ›.&lsaquo!!!

Though personally I thought it's interesting what he says when he launches - pilots usually state their name and then say something like "launching" or "going" etc - he says "ikimasu", which is exactly what Kira says (and in GSeed, only Kira says "ikimasu"). Athrun, for example, says "teru".

BLAARGGH. I saw reviews that it was faster and more interesting than GSeed original, but I don't notice ›.&lsaquo!!!

Then again...I'm biased, lol XD (Considering half my favourite characters either died or aren't doing anything vaguely productive!! *Gnashes teeth*)

OMG...I can't believe I rambled so much on something I didn't even like ==;
