1582 - Ichigo Pantsu?

Okay, I'm really confused about one thing:

Everyone keeps seeming to say that 1582 means Ichigo Pantsu? I get the "Ichigo" part, but "Pantsu"?
I didn't know you could pronounce 8 as Pan, or 2 as Tsu?

Please help!
