mayoraasei: (Reflective)
Had a dream yesterday.

I'm not even going to put an adjective in front of "dreams" anymore LOL

There were two villages on a highland. This was set at least (or about) a century ago where cars just came into popular use.

Anyway, there were two villages in a highland area, they weren't too far apart and since they were quite a distance from the city (which was at the foot of the mountain), the two villages were quite close.

One day, something happened. I don't actually know what it is, but it like what you'd see in movies where some scientific experiment went wrong, or a nuclear bomb was released, or some other disaster is coming.

There was a mild earthquake, and it didn't do too much damage to the infrastructure of the villages, although it was strong enough that people had to take shelter when it happened. The strange thing was that after the earthquake, all the persimmons on the persimmon trees near the villages ripened overnight. I've never seen a persimmon tree before and I never knew they grew so tall (~10m), but they do, according to Google and my dream ==;;;

It was a bit strange, and people were going to dismiss it at first. A few of the villagers went outside the village and looked around, but everything appeared normal, until they realised that apart from humans, there were no animals left on the mountain. Then someone remembered something about the mountain being a danger zone, and if something like this happened, they had a very short time to get off before a greater disaster happened. They then realised that the real "foot" of the mountain (the ending zone) is several kilometers away. They didn't want to move all the villagers in case it was a false alarm, but they also didn't want all the villagers to stay there just in case it was true.

All the villagers started evacuating, but because some of them were very old or very young, they lagged behind. The ones in their prime rushed ahead to the first city to see if they can check on the status of the problem. When they got there, they thought about renting horses so that they can travel to the next city, but they realised it would be faster by "motor cars". They hired a car, and apparently back then they didn't need licenses, so they decided to share around the driving duty so that they can get to the next city without sleep.

...I wonder what happened to the rest of the villagers.
