...had its usual audience (including Jenny) plus myself.

It's the first episode I watched in full and my conclusion is: everyone is gay except those who are not including those who are not but also is.

.........@__@

Am surprised did not fall asleep. The westerner's Chinese sounded better than the Asian guy's ==;;;; That "zai jian" was so stiff and un-Mandarin.

Er, so who are gay again? >__>; And why are those three people living together? @__@ Who likes who likes who likes who? What?

Also watched NCIS repeat, despite telling self should sleep early.

I still like Ziva. People complain about her being "the golden girl" and being "too perfect" but I think that's far from the case.

What I see from her character is a woman trying really hard to play equal in a man's profession, so she's trained herself to be extremely capable when on the job. ...My brain is currently too fried to think, but her character examines the phenomenon of "strong women" in our society. Though Ziva may be better on techniques and skills, at the same time she has lost the traditional "feminine" strengths. She finds it hard to be empathetic, she find it hard dealing with stress and emotions in a non-masculine sort of way, and she finds herself so set in her domineering briskness that she has trouble being gentle...being "feminine" when the time requires.

She's seductive, yes, but even that comes with an aggressive streak. I find that more interesting than Kate, who is a much more traditional female >__>; With Ziva we find someone whose personality is extremely masculine, and it's interesting to see how under stress she clashes with the team in an aggressive instead of bitchy manner, rather than being the "emotional glue" that holds everyone together...like women in these shows tend to do.

After surviving on barely salted meals for the past day, stuffed myself full of greasy barbequed pork and ham and garlic tonight =___= Protein.....my immune system needs protein....

Or so I tell myself.

Does anyone else buy Home Brand milk? Is it just me or do the recent batches taste weird?

...Or maybe it's just the Marrickville branch that sells weird-tasting milk?

lol! you're subjecting yourself to tripping over too? XD

the guy who was charlie's (the chinese guy who speaks awful mandarin) boyfriend is gay. he used to be lizzie's boyfriend (lizzie is the girl who's sister keeps pushing her to get married and have babies) but she's female, so that didn't work out in the end (well, in the beginning. they broke up in the first episode because he told her he was gay)

no other main character (probably) is gay.

lizzie's story is mainly tacked on to everyone else's story. she went to thailand for a holiday with her boyfriend (well, they dated at the beginning of the first episode) and tamsin (she used to work with tamsin, I think), and they met nic and ned (the two australians which are currently living in london with her); ned knows tamsin somehow (his dad knows blah who knows blah who.. etc) and nic is ned's friend.

when they were in thailand, they went on a boat, and it malfunctioned and exploded. one of the characters was killed ('jim', the guy that lizzie's boyfriend was cheating on her with), everyone else was horribly scarred (oh boo hoo.. ^__^|) mentally, but not physically. except for ned. he didn't go on the boat because he had diahroea (sorry, can't spell) :D

the london house is where tamsin and lizzie live. after lizzie broke up, she went back to london (she had planned to have her honeymoon in australia), which is why she is there. I think ned somehow managed to be lodged there too because he is a 'friend' of tamsin's. nic didn't used to live there, but he was having a bad time in london so was about to go home.. then tamsin offered to let him stay in her room.

ned is a crappy actor (sort of like a neighbours one) who went to england to try and improve his career; the plot has his career go even more down the toilet than if he stayed a soap actor. his real dad is the brother of the person he thought was his dad.

nic went to england to surprise his girlfriend, but found out she was cheating on him when he arrived. he taught maths at a high school for a while, but a student kept blackmailing him (he didn't know she was a student when he met her at a dance thingy, and they had sex +_+| what an idiot..) so he quit. he's now working for virgin blue (well, his character is), and the actor has no idea about maths so he's incredibly (unintentionally) hilarious ;D

tamsin went to thailand and then australia because he mum asked her to go (without her fiance) on her deathbed. she met nic in thailand, and after the boat exploding incident they slept with each other for no real reason (uuuuuugggh, you could see the "nic rushing to profess his love for her at her wedding" scene from the first episode! *dies* +_+). when tamsin gets to australia she acts generally confused and 'out of character' (they imply she's a different person before episode 1, but.. we don't see episode -1 +_+), and the show points out she's not very suited with her fiance anymore. (he's a bit of a bastard)

nic likes tamsin, tamsin likes nic, ned likes himself, lizzie is grumpy and likes no one and lizzie's boyfriend (I can never remember his name) likes men.

there's stuff going on between the older generation of characters too, but it's not too confusing and I've been spamming your lj as it is already XD

tripping over is interesting; every time I think it can't possibly get more predictable, it does.

our family doesn't buy milk ^_^
