Death Note anime
3 Sep 2006 08:25 pmI'm not sure if this news is absolutely official yet, but:
On the one hand I'm extremely glad that it's not Ishida Akira (Athrun) doing Raito.
On the other hand, I'm kind of surprised that L's voice actor is going to be Miyano Mamoru, yours sincerely of Tamaki-dono from Ouran Koukou and Noda-sensei from Gakuen Alice.
His voice is rather generic, so let's hope he can do a good job.
Raito's voice actor is a pretty big-name veteran. Yamaguchi Kappei! Who did...Ranma, Inuyasha, and lots of other shounen stuff and shounen-ai stuff and (let me go "geeh?!?" first) Sumeragi Subaru in Tokyo Babylon?!?
Starts October 3rd! I'm sure English subtitles would be quick for this anime (assuming it doesn't get snapped up by American companies).
Keep an eye out for D.Gray-man too...your generic epic eye-candy shounen with a pseudo-plot that can actually hold the story together, if you just let it work at a subconscious level.
(I'm only so sarcastic because someone claimed it was the successor to Bleach, which it is absolutely not. Although Allen Walker has his own appeal over Ichigo...he reminds me of Chronos.)
