Sat through bio at 8am this morning listening to someone going on about animal rights, which I don't have a problem with, but we have to do a discussion/contemplation at the end of this. She gave us a practice problem, personally I thought it was so bloody biased:

"Imagine the human race had died out and you are the very last human on Earth. Considering that humans are the only species that value nature, would you, before you die, destroy everything?"

As soon as she said that, an image of Fuuma loomed up in my mind's eye. *Flaps Fuuma away* Shoo!

But it's the silliest question ever ~~; Why on Earth would you even bother? I mean, it's just so much effort! No normal human being would even bother doing something as retardedly impractical and pointless as that. Besides, unless you knew exactly when you were going to die, why would you go around destroying the very resources you would need to survive your last days?

Unless you're some psychotic homocidal maniac that wants to take everything with you to the grave. Wait, there's no more homo sapiens to "cide" anyway.

...

That wasn't the point.

Unless you build destructive device that will get triggered by your imminent death...but if you had the resources and the brains to do that, you could probably engineer and entirely new species of homo sapiens that's n times smarter and...less...prone to dying out.

Everyone ended up saying "of course you don't destroy Earth" =_____= But it was just so silly...there isn't enough motivation for someone to take an action that extreme. It'll take someone really full of hatred and bitterness (which could happen, under the circumstances) to have the drive to achieve something like destroying the entire Earth, alone.

Blargh, it's such an obvious pro-animals question.

lol, questions are amusing when they're dodgy though. so feng, how many times have you killed your grandmother? if we evolved from apes, why are there still apes?

*pause* I actually got asked the second question once. >.
