2 years has passed without Shinpachi noticing
Gintoki returns with scars on his face
Kagura came back from a tour of the universe a grown woman with a giant rack
Sadaharu and Otose and her girls got replaced by an old man
Otae got married to Kondo
Kondo quit the Shinsengumi to take on the dojo
Shattered by Otae's marriage, Kyubei...got herself a dangly bit and started working at the transsexual's host club
Angry that his character was getting overlapped by Kyubei, Katsura got rid of his dangly bit WTFFFFF
Shinpachi runs into a bazooka toting, cigarette smoking, BADASS Yamazaki, who's now the vice captain of the Shinsengumi
Hijikata is now the "official" captain and all he does is smile kindly all day WTFFFFFFFF
Okita is the king/president/supreme commander of the Shinsengumi and has evil plans to lay waste to the Shogun WTFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF
Spoilers suggest that at the end Hijikata's in on something. It seems that he, like Shinpachi, also didn't experience the time lapse.
Actually I don't care the least about Yamazaki and Okita, BUT GIMME MY BADASS MAYORAA FUKUCHOU BACK ONEGAISHIMASU SORACHI GORILLA. My world shuddered under my feet at the sight of Hijikata's 100W gentle smile. ARRRRRRGGGGGGGGH OUT IMPOSTOR OUT!!!
